Pastor Dan & Pastor Christina Mendoza

Pastor Dan felt the Call of God when he was 18 years old. He had an encounter with God and felt God calling Him to be a Pastor. Years later he would fulfill that call by going to Christian Life Bible College where he served in a leadership role as the Ministerial Club director and graduated with High Honors. Later he would go on to serve in many capacities as a youth pastor, assistant pastor, bible college vice president, and other roles. Pastor Dan felt a call to start a church in North Orange County today known as Celebration OC. He married his wife, Christina, in 2014. Together they pastor this community with passion & relevance. Pastor Dan loves hanging out with people, playing games, enjoying extreme sports, and 80’s music. He preaches relevant messages with passion with a hint of humor.

Elders

CAelebration is governed by Elders that have been selected due to their diligence as deacons in the church. Elders take part in major decisions and help Pastor Dan & Pastor Christina pastor the church. Celebration’s government is set up as instructed in the Word of God. Jesus is the Head & the church is His Body. He has placed pastors & elders to steward His Church. The duties of the pastor put simply are to “feed” and “rule over” the flock (1 Pet 5:1-2). This is carried out in preaching the Gospel, teaching the word of God, loving people, making disciples, training elders, caring for the flock, praying for the flock, etc. This ministry of feeding the flock and governing the body is to be shared with other leaders known as Elders. We have seen from Philippians 1:1 & Timothy 3:1-3 that Deacons also served alongside the elders. Deacons were the “Help” ministry in the church. Elders were chosen amongst the Deacons. When the church is structured Biblically & there is submission, we find blessings & joy in the Kingdom.

Dream Team

AAt Celebration OC, we believe everyone has been uniquely gifted to serve & equip the church. This is why we feel your Best Life comes when one is fulfilling their purpose in the Kingdom of God. The Dream Team at Celebration is God’s Dream for His Church, where everyone in the Body of Christ is blessing one another. We also call is the Dream Team, because we believe this team of volunteers is the best, they are a team that wins every week. This is why we call the last step of our Next Steps is “Joining the Party.” We have parties in life to celebrate monumental events in our lives. And we believe there is no greater reason to celebrate, than for the incredible things God is doing in the church though every member of His Body. As being a member on the Dream Team, we will celebrate weekly the salvation, restoration, and miracle God is doing in His Church.

What We Believe

About God

We believe in one God, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4; Jn 1:1). We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was the only-begotten son of the Father, and is truly God and truly man. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and now reigns in Glory until all things be put under His feet. (I Tim 3:16)

About Scripture

We believe in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Scriptures in their original autographs, given by the Holy Spirit without error as He moved upon holy men of old. Furthermore, we believe that the church has no authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to these same scriptures which were subsequently accepted as Canon by the early Christian Church. (II Timothy 3:16)

About Man

We believe that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of creation. He is now, by reason of “the fall”, spiritually alienated from his Creator. Apart from God’s grace he has no ability to attain to this high calling. (Ps 8; Eph 2:8-9). We believe that justification is by grace through faith in our Lord’s sacrifice on Calvary. (Rom 3:21-24). We believe that all people are to repent and be buried with our Lord Jesus Christ in the waters of baptism. (Mat 28:19; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:4; II Peter 3:9). We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism. It is our understanding that the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are active within the body of Christ until the coming of the Lord. Furthermore, we believe that the development of these gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of local church authority. (Acts 8:14-17, 19:1-2). We believe that those who are called by the Name of Christ should depart from iniquity, understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin only begins the process of redemption. We acknowledge that one work of the Holy Spirit is to create in us the character of Christ. (II Tim 2:19)

About The Church

We believe in the Priesthood of the believer. That is to say all people born of God have equal status before God and direct access to their Lord. (I Pet 2:5) We believe the identity of the body of Christ on the earth is primarily perceived through the local church. While encouraging the voluntary association of local churches, and recognizing the need of consensus on matters of fundamental doctrine and conduct, we strongly confess the local church to be sovereign and autonomous. (Rev 2, 3). We believe that the callings of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are functional within the body of Christ until the Lord’s return. Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the Body of Christ may be edified. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

About The Kingdom

We believe that God has called us into His Kingdom, a position of dominion, power, and peace. Not only in the future, but now. This is the “abundant life” Christ has called us to (Jn 10:10). This “Abundant Life” cannot be seen or even entered until one has been born again (Jn 3). Then the Kingdom (God’s Presence) will reside within giving us righteousness (being made right with God), joy, and peace in Holy Spirit (Rom 14:7). If we continue in a rebellious lifestyle (sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers) we will not inherit the kingdom (Romans 6:9-10). We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth- The Kingdom of God, the resurrection of the regenerate to eternal life and the unregenerate to eternal damnation, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God. (Acts 1:9-11; Dan 12:2; Rev 22:1-7)
